Only one dose of vaccines will be administered to elderly people, patients with chronic diseases treated in hospitals, as well as to people going to work in Lithuanian diplomatic and consular institutions in foreign countries.

Janssen is the fourth COVID-19 vaccine registered in the European Union. The first shipment of this vaccine (4800 doses) arrived in Lithuania on April 13. However, the manufacturer has asked that the vaccine be temporarily suspended until rare side effects in the United States are investigated.

With the introduction of the Janssen vaccine, Lithuanians can now choose from four COVID-19 vaccines. If a resident does not have the vaccine they want at the vaccination center at the time offered, they will be notified when it is delivered.

The four coronavirus vaccines used in Lithuania have passed all the necessary stages of clinical trials, evaluated and approved by the European Medicines Agency.
