Worked very well
“Vėtra” spent the winter successfully in the courtyard of a company located in Šilelio Street, Kėdainiai.
The ship belongs to the Kėdainiai Cultural Center, which took care of its wintering. The operation of transporting the dock from the wintering place to the river required prior preparation. It required powerful techniques.
“Vėtra” was taken to the old town of Kėdainiai by truck, and from there a crane was brought into the water. The entire loading operation of the ship was successful: the ship was safely lowered into the Nevėžis river.
I had to prepare
The shipbuilder and his captain Darius Petkevičius said that some work had to be done before the ship was launched again.
“It just came to our attention then. There is a private area, no one is digging, it was safe in the winter.
Together with the staff of the Kėdainiai Cultural Center, as if we were bathing him in an oil spa, we were serving him and waiting for a quick meeting in the port of Kėdainiai ”, explained D. Petkevičius. It all depends on the decision of the Government
When Vėtra returns to Nevėžis will depend on government decisions.
A test sail awaited the ship, which was launched.
“It just came to our attention then. We will check that the current has not drawn underwater trees, sand deposits or that there are no problems afterwards.
We have done everything that depends on us, only that the crown sets our foot, it is not clear until now we will be able to swim with the people “, said the owner and captain.
There are ethno-workshops
However, while waiting for the start of the shipping season, D. Petkevičius does not sit idly by. At the Kėdainiai Cultural Center, she carries out educational ethno-workshop activities.
Not only boys, but also girls attend the ethno-workshops of the Kėdainiai Cultural Center. They do a lot of cool things here.
“We tried to spin in ancient times. We will sew old clothes. We will dedicate ourselves to the production of a medieval shield, which will then accompany us on walks and camps.
We will produce various products: trays, boxes, ornaments, brooches, other works ”, explained the educator.
