In the pots – from an early age
The mother of two daughters said the girls had seen a productive mother since childhood. Babies sat by the stove. They were allowed to stir, grate, grind, and taste. At the age of eight, Justė was already baking a cake, and eleven was baking a cake. She already knows the recipe for the first baked apple pie – this pie is a family favorite.

For Mama Giedre, the girl’s fondness for cooking seemed normal. But it didn’t seem that way to his friends. “And I told them: My just, my just. They kept saying that you needed to write about Juste in the newspaper. I thought maybe the talent was really here, maybe the boy was really exceptional. Before Easter, a great article appeared in the newspaper. So beautifully written. We are really very proud, ”said mother Giedrė.

Parents who have returned from work are usually greeted with a dinner prepared by Justė. The girl is happy to prepare parties for the holidays, think about the decorations. Last summer, Justie baked her first cake. After receiving much praise and encouragement, the teenager began to try different recipes with increasing value. Although the quarantine and the holidays are almost over, Justė finds opportunities: the family is very large, there is something to greet on her birthday almost every month.
“Sometimes he finds recipes so complicated that I say, ‘Juste, calm down.’ Because he’s persistent, he’s always successful, ”said his mother. The girl no longer surprises her family and relatives with fancy gifts instead of asking for a cake, spatula or sprinkles.
Improvise just lowering the sugar
Giedrė proudly says: her daughter not only produces deliciously, but also learns well. The forerunner is very successful in the exact sciences. Perhaps because of this, the mother speculates, the girl is lucky enough to make cakes where special precision is needed.
The teenager herself is convinced that when baking a cake it is better not to rush and always stay longer. “I bake according to recipes. Maybe as much as I improvise, I always add less sugar, but it’s definitely not the way to create recipes myself just yet. The most interesting thing I had to bake was the raspberry pistachio tart. I baked it for the baptismal father. The cake was tall, made with more interesting ingredients. Later, I baked this cake again, it’s already so delicious, ”Justė said.

The girl, who surprises her relatives with sweet cakes, admits that she is not a sweetie herself. The teenager tries to keep her cakes from being too sweet. Now my mom is interested in vegan pastry recipes.
“No, I don’t think I’m going to be a pastry chef. At least now it seems like it will continue to be a hobby,” smiled the girl, happy that the quarantine had some of those advantages: there was more time to rotate in the kitchen.
