According to the expert, epidemic management solutions are an inevitable compromise between several incompatible priorities, what must be done and most importantly, what can be done with the available resources.
“I never agreed with all the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, various mistakes were made, but I don’t think it was possible to do significantly better with the available resources and competencies of the state institutions.
Over the past six months, I have met many smart and enterprising people whose consistent work has helped keep the cost of the epidemic as low as possible. That makes me optimistic. As long as these people keep working, everything will be fine, “said V. Zemlys-Balevičius.
At the same time, he stressed that they are withdrawing from active councils, the epidemic is not over.
“I will continue to express my opinion on the problems of managing the epidemic, not as actively as before, but already as an ordinary citizen of the Republic of Lithuania,” wrote V. Zemlys-Balevičius.
