Darius Škarnulis, head of the Vilnius Border Guard Team of the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), who contacted Linava representatives at night, reported that the bandwidth of the Medininkai border checkpoint it had decreased compared to the situation during the day.
SBGS representatives also ask carriers to choose, if possible, other border checkpoints with Belarus: Šalčininkai-Benjakonyj and Lavoriškės-Katlovka, where, according to the SBGS, there is currently much better performance.
According to the association, this time the queues are not formed by failures in the computer systems, but by the lack of responsible people at the border posts who must verify the departure and arrival vehicles. Some drivers have been trapped at the border for a week, especially the situation at the Medininkai and Lavoriškės checkpoints.
