Additional exemptions
According to I. Šimonytė, the Government has already adopted certain facilities for those who have acquired immunity, who have become ill or have completed the vaccination program: on Thursday, these people can more actively communicate and visit each other.
However, in addition, the government has provided certain privileges and negative coronavirus tests for people.
Also, it is not an immunity passport, but a certain check-up of a person that at least the tests do not show that they are currently ill, so having a negative test or a partial vaccination could do some additional activities with greater Liberty. We are talking about the period after May 3.
As an example, you could say: have dinner in a restaurant inside, ”said I. Šimonytė.
Too much negative information
Vilnius District Mayor Marija Rekst said that recently the rate of vaccination in the municipality has accelerated and ways are being sought to talk to residents of the municipality.
“The vaccination in our area is very moving now. As the Prime Minister said, people were quite slow, not only the grandparents, the elderly, but also the young,” said the mayor.
“We speak, we look for ways to persuade people; people may disagree, but we speak, we give good examples of people who have been vaccinated,” Rekst added.
One of the measures is a bus that runs through Nemenčinė, urging residents to get vaccinated in Lithuanian and Polish.
It is true that this does not convince everyone. Although the doors of the Nemenčinė Polyclinic will open many times on Friday morning, 120 elderly or chronically ill residents of the district are scheduled to be vaccinated during the day.
According to Rest, the population’s attitude towards COVID-19 is also determined by the escalation of topics in the media about possible side effects, which are in fact unlikely.
“I apologize to the media, but I think that people receive too much negative information. There is less positive information about what vaccines give, but a lot of information on television and social networks is climbing a lot, despite the fact that six out of 7 million people got sick ”, emphasized the mayor.
Regst himself also said that he had been vaccinated: “You have to feel your responsibility.”
Going in the right direction
Municipalities lagging behind in terms of vaccination are moving in the right direction, says Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, who will visit vaccination centers in the Vilnius region on Friday.
“I have to praise the Vilnius district and other places that I will visit today, but I will also praise you there, that we really see the activation and the rate of vaccination and the actions and plans of such plans in the last days.
When we have tried to do something for the municipalities themselves, we offer help with transportation, perhaps because of the capacity that could be vaccinated. But the municipalities are also working, I think they feel the attention and also feel the pressure from society, ”the Prime Minister told reporters after meeting with the Vilnius district municipality administration in Nemenčinė.
I. Šimonytė emphasized that the Vilnius district municipality is a vast territory with a large population, so there are a number of challenges here. She says she initially “didn’t think this was important” and that faster vaccination was needed to get more quarantine releases.
“But I think it’s going in the right direction,” he said.
According to her, the success of vaccination also depends on the personal leadership of municipal leaders.
“I understand that the mayor no longer lacks personal leadership now, she really sees her responsibility, she has planned actions, tools and equipment. We will continue working together ”, said the Head of Government.
