According to official figures, they have been visited by police officers at least nine times in a few months while the royal couple lived there. This information was also confirmed by the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office. There, he clarified that the police officers had repeatedly received a phone call, as well as when an alarm was triggered.

Police officers are noted to have returned home four times in July last year: Meghan and Harry had just moved to Santa Barbara from Los Angeles, where they were living in rented accommodation.

On Christmas Eve, a new call came to the police from the home of Marke, 39, and Prince Hary, 36, reporting that a detainee had invaded the couple’s home. It was discovered that it was Nicolas Brooks, 37, who was found behind bars for breaking into private property and was later released. The last call was recorded on February 16, saying it was “alarm activation.”

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Sussex Princes said they feared for her safety after giving up their royal duties. Prince Harry says he never thought that after the Megxit, his security would no longer be handled by officials from the British Security Service, which is funded by British taxpayers.

“It just came to our knowledge then. I inherited that risk. So when I lost my protection, I was in shock,” says Prince Harry. Currently, the couple are paying for their protection out of their own pockets.
