In Vilnius, police officers captured the participants of an illegal party at night. After midnight, officials received a message from a civilian resident that a party was taking place in the building, music was playing loud, and people were not complying with quarantine requirements.
“I received an invitation that people are making noise and playing music in a room. Upon the arrival of the officials, the information was confirmed. After going up to the second floor, more than 100 people were found, a party was held and there was we have to stop the party, ”says Ramūnas Matonis, a representative of the police department.
Officers arriving at the ballroom, which is now closed, found a large crowd of more than 100 people, some of whom rushed to flee, but police managed to identify 89 participants. It turned out that the adults, and most of them, foreigners from different countries, participants of the ERASMUS student exchange program, had fun.
“There is a dance hall there, Erasmus students from clean countries and foreigners organized a party there,” explains R. Matonis.
The store is empty on Saturday, and the owner of a nearby furniture store says he has not seen or knows what could have happened here at night.
Officials assure that they have already identified the alleged foreigner of the party organizers, as well as the tenant of the premises, and continue to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
“The students study under the Erasmus program in Lithuania, they have a united group somewhere, they decided to go a little crazy,” said a police representative.
Violations of quarantine requirements will result in fines of between 500 and 1,500 euros for participants of an illegal party. Despite the ban on meeting, officials organized 7 parties in Lithuania last day, but this is distinguished by the large number of participants.
