Scammers began to wreak havoc on social media, reporting illegal activities to virtual patrols by people who noticed the services they were broadcasting.
The fraudsters offered to “produce” counterfeit driver’s licenses for a fee, provide additional driving categories, recover lost driver’s licenses, and create other documents.
“Currently, many of these accounts have been blocked and notifications with these suggestions have been removed. In many cases, according to a pre-planned fraud scheme, people first request a payment in advance, and after receiving the product / service and the rest of the amount, then it is blocked, the money transferred is not reimbursed, people can no longer be contacted ”, announces the virtual patrol.
People are warned not to fall for the traps of scammers, to be vigilant and not to trust suspicious service providers.
Such or similar cases should be reported to the social media administrators.
According to Article 300 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania, responsibility is not only given to persons who falsify documents, but also to those who dispose of them. The commission of such a crime is punishable by arrest or imprisonment for up to four years.
