The 19-year-old, 207cm tall basketball player, who moved to Kaunas midway through the 2020 season, hasn’t had much time from strategist Martin Schiller to express himself this year.

The high appeared on the floor in just six Euroleague matches, and today, before Athens, Panathinaikos managed more minutes than during the entire Old Continent championship season combined.

Blaževičius spent nearly 18 minutes on the floor today and scored 7 points (3/7 doubles, 1/2 penalty), bounced 4 balls, made 1 cash pass and scored 8 utility points.

Despite the difficult season, the talented “Žalgiris” sees the current situation positively and reminds everyone: last year he was still rubbing the school bench.

“I am nineteen years old, I have just finished school and I am in one of the best European organizations, with the best Lithuanian players, current and former, Super legionaries. I have every opportunity to grow, there is nothing wrong here and only all that change in attitude has helped me and I myself feel that I have improved significantly psychologically, “said the tall man at the press conference.

– How does phosphorus look in your eyes?
– The game was very physical, because the rivals came with a very big height, playing old-fashioned basketball with two big people, and we were bleeding, we only had 2 centers, Martin and me. Jankis was a fourth real number, Patricio Garino’s real position is third, but today he played fourth, so I think we got along really well. They bounced a very small number of balls in attack, which is their strength and according to this indicator they are second in the league, which our coach stood out and we faced, we ran very well. It was very Super energy and it seemed they didn’t want to play anymore and our desire and energy broke the game.

-How much was the sporting anger to prove your worth in the Euroleague?
– It was fun going out to play basketball. This season for me is such that I am gaining experience, I work individually and I discover peace. I am learning to take advantage of short snippets of what is really useful and what I am missing. Especially in that much patience, peace, that we also saw today, that sometimes made me rush and sometimes improved me. There was definitely anger and ambition, but I think I got on well. Sure, I was rushed at times, but half the devil.

– After the match, Paulius Jankūnas announced that he would not finish his career yet. When did you say that to the team and how did you react?
– We all found out in the locker room, we parked, we hugged, we rejoiced. There were jokes that are still heard in the locker room. Very fun atmosphere for that.
