Skvernelis and Karbauskis saw no criticism in Nausėda’s report: everyone will be able to adapt

When asked if he saw criticism in himself in the president’s report, the prime minister praised the speech.

For the general system, everyone has been told that everyone will be able to adapt, apparently they have. But I think this report is an overview of all of the president’s most important job, his areas of responsibility. He is concentrating, thinking about the future, ”the head of government told reporters after G. Nausėda’s annual report.

He denied rumors that the president had to reject the party’s nominations for certain seats.

“No, definitely not. We have a good dialogue with the President, and it is clear that it is not always possible to reach an agreement. But we always adhere to that. And I never gave those candidates and party preferences, I don’t think ever grant them, “said the Prime Minister.

In his annual report, G. Nausėda also spoke about the background of political culture. Skvernel said everyone could personally adapt it.

“Everyone can assess what it was and pose that question to the president.” But here, apparently, it is not just a matter of discussion and evaluation of this term, ”he assured.

“I didn’t understand that at all”

LVŽS leader R. Karbauskis emphasized to journalists that the ruling majority was not seeking resistance.

“It is difficult to judge, I did not understand very well what the president wanted to say.” If you wanted to say that our work in Seimas, or in the political life of Lithuania, is very opposed, it is a fact. But if the ruling majority seeks it, it is not. “The opposition, which seeks to oppose everyone, is a style that has not changed in 30 years,” he said.

“Recently, there have been attempts to awaken many passions about the Constitutional Court. Deliberately or unconsciously, measures are being taken that push a country into a constitutional crisis. This is irresponsible,” said G. Nausėda in the annual report.

LVŽS leader R. Karbauskis said he did not understand this.

“I did not understand that at all. If we refer to our appeal to the President of the Constitutional Court, then we have done what he suggested, we will seek clarification. (…) There is no attempt here to question anything. This is not related to the decisions, but the legal community asks a question, because doubts arise, “said R. Karbauskis about the situation of the Constitutional Court.

The head of state noted that projects are often simply rejected by their author. A spokesman for the ruling coalition said that no one should be offended.
“I say this at the moment, perhaps it meant that not all of the president’s proposals were supported.” It is important that we have a dialogue, we have different opinions, no one should be offended, “said the LVŽS leader.
