Kaunas “Žalgiris” will be looking for a new head coach for the substitute team.

The club confirmed on its website that it had decided not to renew the contract with Arvydas Gronskis.
It is announced that the 46-year-old specialist will be replaced by the current coach and strategist of the Kaunas Žalgiris-3 team, Vytautas Pliauga, who has been nominated to become the best basketball coach of the Regional Basketball League (RKL). .
Gronskis, who has led the Žalgiris-2 team since the summer of 2019, fell in the quarterfinals of the NKL championship with the doubles of the Lithuanian champions this season.
At the Euroleague (under 18s) youth qualifying tournament in Istanbul, Gronskis took third place and did not win a direct ticket to the final stage.
In the period 2007-2019, Gronskis, 46, worked in the system of the then “Lietuvos rytas” of Vilnius.
This season, Pliauga, Dalius Lubys and Darius Sirtautas worked on the Gronskis coaching staff.
