“After the epidemiological diagnosis, a coronavirus infection was detected in four people who indicate they have participated in music awards held in Kaunas. During the epidemiological investigation, the individuals did not indicate other circumstances in which the individuals would have participated together, ”Justina Petravičienė, representative of the NVSC, told BNS.
According to her, epidemiologists found that one in four people participated in the awards during the contagious period.
“Four people who had been in high-risk contact with him during the awards were isolated, excluding people with confirmed COVID-19 disease,” said J. Petravičienė.
Last week, Kaunas County Police for not wearing masks and for failing to comply with the prescribed distances started 42 administrative procedures for individuals after the filming of the MAMA music awards in Kaunas at the end of March at the “Žalgiris” arena in Kaunas.
Administrative proceedings have also been initiated against the broadcasters.
For their part, the event organizers highlighted that the safety measures and recommendations were followed during filming.
Already during the broadcast, there was outrage in public space because the quarantine rules were not followed, masks were not used and there were no safe distances. Some called the event a “party during the plague.”
Organizers said there were no outsiders at the filming, all contestants were screened for COVID-19 prior to the awards, and staff wore protective masks.
