June 13 A crime that shocked the whole of society was probably committed in Vilnius, when, according to preliminary data, a fourteen-year-old girl was raped on Medeinos Street.
After intensive investigative actions, Vilnius County Police Officers were able to identify people who may have committed this crime.
Currently, on Wednesday afternoon, those involved in the crime are being questioned by police investigators, searches of the suspects’ residences and other procedural steps.
The location of the crime under investigation is not a public park, as previously announced, but private property.
It has already been established that the site of the incident is not a public park (as announced in the initial information) but a private area. After the interviews, it will be decided what preventive detention measures will be taken against the suspects.
In order not to jeopardize the pre-trial investigation, the capital’s police cannot disclose further circumstances of the incident and more detailed information about the detainees, the report said.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by prosecutors from the 1st Prosecution Division of the Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
