The Lithuanian Highway Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Highway Administration) invites service providers to participate in a market consultation on the reconstruction of the nationally important section of the A14 Vilnius – Utena motorway from 21.50 to 39 , 20 km.

According to Remigijus Lipkevičius, head of the Lithuanian SE Road Administration, until April 12 this year, service providers can send comments on the technical specification for the preparation of the technical work project. Suggestions and comments received during the market consultation will be evaluated.

Following market consultations, a tender will be announced for the purchase of a technical project for the reconstruction of said section (together with the selection and preparation of alternative solutions) and a project execution supervision service. The purchase is scheduled to be announced in the second quarter of this year.

The works on the A14 Vilnius – Utena road are planned to be carried out in stages. The section to be rebuilt first is 21.50 to 39.20 km.

The last reconstruction works on the main state road A14 Vilnius – Utena stretch from 16.00 to 21.50 km were carried out in 2019-2020. The road was rebuilt from two lanes of traffic to four, two-level intersections with rural roads, overpasses were installed for pedestrians, environmental and traffic safety measures were implemented, and engineered networks were rebuilt.

The Vilnius-Utena highway is one of the main transport arteries in the country, which runs from the capital to the surrounding municipalities. The A14 Vilnius – Utena highway is one of the most problematic in Lithuania. This is probably the only road with a concrete and cement pavement that is worn, warped and endangers road safety.
