R. Baškienė was delegated to the working group formed by the Seimas Board by secret ballot.

“The group selected by secret ballot 2 of the 5 candidates who were to be nominated to the working group. The faction agreed in principle, “Eltai said as a” peasant “delegate to the task force.

However, according to her, the faction changed position after being approached by the shadow government formed by LVŽS.

“The shadow government approached the faction, proposing that the LVŽS faction should not participate in the working group, where it had seen preliminary contradictions and disagreements,” said R. Baškienė.

According to her, the shadow cabinet of ministers headed by Ramūnas Karbauskis argued that it was not worth wasting time discussing proposals that the LVŽS would not really support, for example: the rejection of single-member electoral districts in the Seimas elections.

According to R. Baškienė, the faction decided to withdraw from the working group initiated by the rulers by secret ballot, with 13 members voting in favor and 11 against. She claims to respect this decision of the majority of the group, but points out that she has a different opinion.

“It just came to our knowledge then. I obeyed the group’s decision, although I myself had a different opinion and tried to defend it, but I lacked votes. My arguments were that you need to be present, you need to be heard, you need to present and offer your position in every meeting.

Well, because the group changed its decision, we obeyed the will of the group, ”said the MP, emphasizing that 8 members of the group did not participate in the vote at all.

R. Baškienė also adds that individual members of the faction will participate in the electoral system review process and submit their proposals separately.
