According to her, the inspections also revealed 19 violations of traffic regulations, four of them due to drunken drivers, eight protocols were drawn up for non-compliance with quarantine requirements and one drove without rights.
Kaunas County Police Representative Odeta Vaitkevičienė informed BNS that there are no traffic jams at county posts and that there are not many drivers turned off either, but the exact data will be on Sunday.
The driving ban between the country’s municipalities, except ring roads, came into force in Lithuania from midnight on Saturday. The ban was renewed by the government until April 6 inclusive to stop the spread of COVID-19.
According to Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, this change sends a message to residents that everyone will be home for Easter.
As with the previous restrictions, it is possible to move between ring municipalities and metropolitan areas, travel for work, travel to and from airports and seaports and bus stations, and for other important reasons.
