The quarantine rooms, which have been waving in Lithuania for a year, are trying to convince you that a single viewer is enough: the eye of an all-seeing camera. Thus, the Golden Stage Cross awards were delivered on March 27 – International Theater Day without applause from the peers sitting in the room: the audience was represented by the mirror images of the winners by the cameras that filmed the ceremony.

The solemn evening was opened by LNOBT CEO Jonas Sakalauskas, who was pleased that for the second year in a row the Golden Stage Cross Awards ceremony was being entrusted to his theater, and wished that both performers and spectators would return to theaters as soon as possible.

Subsequently, the Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys congratulated the theater performances on the International Day of Distance Theater. The Ministry of Culture had received this year 75 proposals for the Professional Performing Arts Awards 2020. works. The Lithuanian National Dramatic Theater performance “Alisa” and the State Youth Theater performance “Austerlicas” obtained five nominations among the candidates for the “Golden Stage Crosses”.

These awards are intended to measure 2020 the most significant works of the year by professional performers, researchers and other artists in the field of performing arts and outstanding professional achievements in the fields of theater, opera, operetta and music, the ballet, dance, puppet and object theater, theater for children and youth. As every year, a maximum of 17 awards will be awarded.

The proposals for the awards were evaluated by a commission made up of nine experts in theater, dance, art and music: Margarita Alper, Silvija Čižaitė-Rudokienė, Monika Jašinskaitė, Lina Klusaitė, Rasa Murauskaitė, Martynas Petrikas, Evgeniya Shermeneva, Janina Stankeviė and Bir .
