HAND OF GOLDEN DEER
photo by checkinlithuania.com/ Golden Deer Manor
A huge moose gleaming with gold and many other unique metal sculptures, old motorcycle and horn museums, a large territory carved with footprints – all of this can be found at Golden Deer Manor. Golden Deer Manor is a beautiful name of a rural tourism farm established in the Telšiai district, Rapaliai village. It is not a real mansion, as we are used to, with a history of several hundred years, old buildings. The farm in a picturesque place in Samogitia sprouted just over ten years ago.

LADY (KOMARU) LADY
photo from checkinlithuania.com/Palėvenė manor
It is a mansion that has been ruled by a tribe for many centuries: Komara. And even today, which is quite rare, it once again belongs to the descendants of the Komars, that is, to the granddaughter of the last owner of the mansion, which was before the regrettable nationalization. Now beautifully arranged, it awaits visitors wishing to take a stroll through the area. And visitors are very drawn to the unique view of the mansion – the ruins next to it, which pique curiosity and promise beautiful shots.

CROSSBALL RACE

The Skersabaliai quarry is very cozy and photogenic. Many are tempted to come here to see artistic photos with train tracks crossing a race and plunging into a body of water. Actually, the race looks just as impressive as in the photos. The greatest beauty of the surroundings opens up from the top of the quarry: from there you can see both the lake formed here and the railway snake wandering in the distance, as well as the steep slopes framed by pine trees, which remained after the sand. and removed here.

DISCOVERY OF FAMILIES WITH CONGLOMERATED ROCK
photo from checkinlithuania.com/Family outcrop with conglomerate rock
A place that will be remembered for a long time. Due to its uniqueness, surprise, wide beautiful spaces and rare sight of rocks for the eyes of Lithuanians. Some of the conglomerate blocks scattered at the foot of the Šeimyniškės outcrop are several times the size of a human, and that’s impressive. Of course, if you compare the Lithuanian rocks with those of, for example, the Alps, you will probably be disappointed. So, don’t compare, look curiously around the Šeimyniškės outcrop. As far as I know, there are no more chipboard ingots of this size anywhere else in Lithuania.

RŪDNINKAI FOREST CONTINENTAL DUNE
photo by checkinlithuania.com/ Rūdninkai forest continental dune
The bright yellow sand dune formed by dropped aerial bombs … Fear not, the bombs fell there more than 30 years ago. Now, on the dune in the middle of the Rūdninkai forest, images that stop time and eye strain from looking at them for a long time can threaten him. The section of the Rūdninkai dune is narrow, but at one end it is long standing, the other end is not visible. Getting to the dune in the Rūdninkai forest will require a bit of effort.
I wrote about the dune here at RŪDNINKAI FOREST CONTINENTAL DUNE.
KAČĖNIŠKĖ MOUNTAIN
photo from checkinlithuania.com/Kačėniškės mound
The word “beautiful” is simply insufficient for the Kačėniškės mound. The mound is so beautiful that I would like to transport it closer to Vilnius and spend time with it more often. This wonderful mound is located in the Švenčionys district, in the Sirvėtai regional park, on the shore of the small Mergežeris lake. A newly installed hiking trail of the same name leads to it. On one side the mound is leaning against the lake, on the other it wets the small swamp. It is not necessary to talk about this mound, but to visit it.

STONE SPREAD

13.4 m long, 7.5 m wide and 3.6 m high, and weighs up to 680 tons. This is how powerful the Barstyčiai stone, called the largest rock in Lithuania, rises in the village of Puokė, Skuodas district. The stone is so big that for those who want to climb it, a ladder is built next to it, because otherwise there is no way.

GOOSE FISH

It’s probably worth going to the place of such a strange name just for its name. The following dialogues can be expected after the visit: Where was the weekend? “Mother tongue”. Disturbance and surprise on the faces of the interlocutors. And what exactly is this “mother tongue”? The so-called island is located on the outskirts of Kupiškis, surrounded by the wide waters of the Kupiškis lagoon (Lėvens pond).

LOPAITIAI COURSE
photo from checkinlithuania.com/Lopaičiai educational trail
Lithuanian Stonehenge… I could name the hiking trail of the same name in the mysterious Lopaičiai Forest and the whole area around it. Here in Samogitia, in the forest district of Tver, in a place covered with deciduous vegetation, there is not only a mound, but also well-preserved elements of the ancient Lithuanian religious shrine, many of which are associated with stones. This place is famous and popular. First of all, due to a spring gushing out of the ground in the forest, which is considered sacred.
