The fish was handed over to scientists at the Klaipeda University Marine Research Institute. It has been established that it is a very rare four-eared bream (Enchelyopus cimbrius) found in Lithuanian waters. It was 25 cm long and weighed 67 grams.

So far, only a few cases of quadriceps registration have been known in Lithuanian marine waters. Previously, researchers from the University of Klaipronda captured 7 and 23 cm long individuals of this species in 2005 and 2006 offshore, at a depth of about 65 meters, near the Kaliningrad region.

From other species, four whiskers can be distinguished by large eyes and four whiskers: three whiskers on the upper jaw and one on the lower jaw. These properties help them to catch invertebrates and fish in very deep and dark places in the Baltic Sea. True, most often in the western part of the Baltic Sea.

The fact that the sea bream has been found at a depth of 5 meters is a surprising but interesting fact that complements the knowledge of scientists about this species.
