The Lithuanian Highway Police Service fined N. Daunoravičius for hooligan driving and other KET violations. It’s March 14th. this vehicle circulated through the streets of the capital. This was announced by officials on social networks.
The penalty imposed on the driver of a golf course with wheels of agricultural machinery mounted is 225 euros and the driving disqualification is 12 months.
However, this not all. On Thursday, Norbe announced that he had received more sanctions on his Facebook account:
“How do you understand that? Yesterday Live During the broadcast, I verified that the most famous golf course in Lithuania is fully and correctly registered, with a valid TA, authorized to participate in traffic, etc. I checked this morning: everything is stopped. Without any message, without any protocol. Is that possible? Will each person be denied TA and banned from participating in the traffic, without any information, without any actual suspension and inspection? (…) According to the video and you decided that Golf is it technically messy? No experience, inspection. (…) I will repeat that nothing was done for hooligan incentives, there was no real danger for other road users ”, Norbe complained.
15 minutes After contacting N. Daunoravičius, he clarified his statement a bit: “I wrote about emotions, the prohibition seems to be no longer valid.”
And he commented on the whole situation as follows:
“It is very disappointing that the news reports that I have been deprived of my driving license. I have it and will have it until the trial. I have not been punished yet. Perhaps it is such a great desire to show how the police can discipline quickly? a real penalty, I would agree. But here the lack of respect for the rules was not shown. I think they have punished me too severely, there was no thug driving. If necessary, I will go to court “, said Norbertas Daunoravičius- Norbe.
Comment of the Transeksta Association
Renald Gabart, representative of the Transeksta Association, explained the situation as follows:
“The formal aspect is as follows: due to goals quite difficult to explain, an ‘experiment’ was organized and N. Daunoravičius’ VW Golf car, which became the ‘most famous’ in Lithuania, carried out a technical inspection on February 18 February 2020 and received a positive conclusion from the driver. It is obvious that if this car had made it to the TA station after said recycling (i.e. with tractor wheels instead of the planned ones) filmed by the owner and uploaded to the YouTube channel, the result of the inspection would have been completely different: VW Golf “The technical characteristics have changed and do not comply with the established technical requirements that define the size of both rims and tires, fenders, front, side and rear protectors, etc.
In this case, it is important that roadworthiness test inspectors can make decisions about the possible safety risks of such vehicles only during the inspection at the TA station, and not by looking at photos or videos. Control cars on the road and destroy the validity of the mandatory technical inspection and suspend the permission to participate in public traffic according to SEAKĮ / Art. (Road Safety Law) is only available to police officers, Administration Lithuanian transport security and customs authorities.
It is still possible to guess whether so much information and information presented in such a format (without a “live” car inspection) is enough to make the decision to cancel the roadworthiness test, because according to the knowledge of the Lithuanian Association of Companies of Safety Testing for Transeksta Circulation, such a practice has not been formed. Perhaps that is why the decision to suspend the license of N. Daunoravičius “VW Golf” car to participate in public traffic was based on the fact that this vehicle was not covered by the compulsory liability insurance “.
