The presidency has already started the selection for the position of president of the Lithuanian Court of Appeal. The list of judges who wish to participate in it will be drawn up before April 15.
The President of the Court of Appeal shall be appointed by the President from among the judges appointed by this Court with the approval of the Seimas.
On Tuesday, the Seimas also approved the removal of Artūras Driukas and Egidija Tamošiūnienė from the judges of the Court of Appeal. They have already been appointed to serve on the Supreme Court.
The dismissal of Judge Ernesta Montvidienė was also approved, since at his request the judge was transferred to the Šiauliai Regional Court.
On Tuesday, the Seimas also approved the removal of Kazys Kailiūnas from the judges of the Court of Appeal at the end of his term.
