But Rasa herself has never publicly shared her personal life story. It is still difficult for him to say how he decided to take care of the two fourteen-year-old girls. One of them withdrew from life without warming up in Rasa’s house, and the other with Lydia, Rasa had to take the easy path to turn her family into a foster teenager.
“From the girl I saw in the nursing home to the current Lydia, there are light years. I saw every step of her that was practically drenched in blood because it was her journey through herself, her journey of self-confidence. I was around. She is extremely strong. And very brave, because he himself followed that path. From the desire to say goodbye to this life and the attempt to do so, to what it is now ”, says Rasa on the Delfi television show” Heroes of Everyday Life “.
Rasa still remembers very well how one day in a working day, walking through the corridors of a nursing home, he saw a girl Lidija fall into his heart. At that time, Rasa already had two children.
“It just came to our knowledge then. But I couldn’t forget her. In the first half of the year she pushed me in every possible way,” says the woman.

Determining to accept a girl growing up in a nursing home into her family alone was certainly not enough to solve all the problems. On the contrary, the problems have only just started and I had to go a long and difficult road before Rasa struck the adolescent’s heart.
“I invited her to the guests, to Vilnius, to our house. And in small steps we began to communicate. Now that I look back, I can only say one thing: Lydia is the greatest university of my life. In every way. For It was an extremely emotionally strong personal school for me. I have repeatedly had to go through really difficult situations for me and realize what is most important and what is it about. And why am I with that girl? And what is it? That purpose. One of the biggest difficulties was the beginning, because in the first half of the year it took me away in every possible way, “says Rasa about the painful experience of life.
