EU: Putin bears political responsibility for attacks

“Unfortunately, there is a long list of unsuccessful and successful attacks against critical and independent figures in Russia, including politicians and journalists,” EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Thursday. It appears that many cases were not investigated, remained unsolved and the perpetrators were not brought to justice.

In addition, the Russian authorities have taken illegal action against Ukraine and participated in other conflicts. “You know that Vladimir Putin, as president of the Russian Federation, is ultimately responsible for Russia’s institutions, policies and actions,” he said.

In an interview with the American television station ABC, Biden responded positively to the question of whether he considered Putin a “murderer”. However, he did not clarify what he specifically meant. The president threatened Putin with the consequences of an alleged interference in the US elections last November.
