On Wednesday, the majority of the members of this commission voted in favor of his candidacy, which was proposed by the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Union (TS-LKD) faction, only against the deputy of Seimas Valdemaras Valkiūnas, and the deputy of El Parliament Laima Mogenien Parlamento abstained.
“The faction offers a great policy to this commission”, Rima Baškienė, a member of the Seimas and a member of the Seimas, supported the candidacy proposed by the conservatives.
According to the member of the Seimas Vytautas Mitalas, it is a good candidacy on such a complex subject and with many colors.
Seimas member P. Kuzmickienė believes that more attention should be paid to civic education and strengthening the civic maturity of our society.
In defense of the former president of the commission Valdas Rakutis, a deputy of the Seimas Valdemaras Valkiūnas regretted that “no one is treated for anything and no one apologizes.” He proposed a secret ballot for the chairman of the commission, but his proposal did not receive the support of colleagues.
P. Kuzmickienė should replace Valdas Rakutis, a member of the Seimas belonging to the conservative faction, as chairman of the commission. He remained an ordinary member of the commission.
The final decision on the Freedom Struggles and the State Historical Memory Commission must be made by the entire Seimas by vote.
