I have a portion of dust

Heat, sand, dunes, dust and an endless desert. The CFMOTO Factory Racing team, which started at Rally Phoenix, faced such conditions today. Today they had to travel almost one hundred and a half kilometers. Both Antanas Kanopkinas and Adam Gancier managed the first test without problems and did not put the extra work on the mechanics.

“It just came to our knowledge then. There were some long straights, maybe ten miles or more. So it’s all just dunes. A little mistake was made, but we weren’t too wrong. There was a lot of dust. The most important thing was not to hit that one. dust, because you couldn’t really see anything at the time. You had to be careful in those places. They didn’t want to finish the race there. We didn’t do much damage to the technicians, I drilled a circle, but everything was fine. We are going to rest and wait what the organizers have in store for tomorrow, “said Antanas Kanopkinas.

French ATV burned

Another CFMOTO Factory Racing Team four-wheeler, Adomas Gančierius, said that today there were people in the desert who had problems much more serious than a flat tire. For Adam himself, the day went by without a hitch. Navigation in the dunes did not seem difficult either, although the mistakes could not be completely avoided.

“Everything came out like a pipe. In one place, on the gravel road, under the dust, I turned around and made a mistake. I wasted maybe two, three minutes. Very hot. Maybe I dressed too much. Tomorrow we will have to give up a layer of clothing. Stuck lost, the technique held up perfectly, so the thoughts after the first stretch of speed are positive. Although for some it was probably sadder. Tom Mickus, from what I could see, was overturned, as if the glass of a road book had been broken. “A Polaris ATV tore its belt and was completely burned out,” Adam Gancier said.

So far, the organizers have not provided official results, but the preliminary minutes of the first day show that Antanas Kanopkin is in fifth place in the ATV rankings, and Adam Ganchier is in the bottom position.

On the second day of the Phoenix Rally, participants will have a two-part sprint section. After the first section and 113 kilometers, the participants will have a remote service area and can relax. After that, they will have another 73 kilometers. Most of the route will once again consist of sand dunes and dunes.
