The images of the girl sliding out the window in the kindergarten yard so shocked the Klaipėda resident that he decided not to keep silent. However, the kindergarten staff, who explained the situation, claimed that the children were only playing like this, and even began to accuse the civilian observing the situation of violating children’s rights.
Screamed from the balcony
Mantas, who lives in Klaipėda, looking out the window of his apartment on Kauno Street, unexpectedly noticed a strange sight in the courtyard of the nearby school-kindergarten “Saulutė”.
At that time, around 10 children had free time to pass the time, supervised by an adult woman, probably an educator.
The young man’s attention was focused on the behavior of the children. The man said that as soon as the worker supervising them turned around, a group of boys attacked a girl and began beating her, pushing her and pulling her clothes.
Mantas saw that the girl felt uncomfortable and could not defend herself from the boys who had attacked her intensely.
The man was paralyzed when he saw the cruelty of the girl and hoped that the educator would immediately discipline the little mischievous and protect the girl.
And actually, the woman saw the other children’s attacks on the student a couple of times and expelled the perpetrators. But soon the situation was repeated.
Mantas told the educators, restrained, yelling from the balcony to take control of the situation.

The violence was perpetuated over the phone
According to the man, the educator lifted the overturned child from the ground, placed him next to a tree and left. However, the situation was repeated: the boys rushed to push the same girl.
The educator turned around again at that moment and did not see what the children were doing.
Then Manto’s blood boiled. He grabbed his smartphone and filmed another assault on the children.
In the video, which was also received by the editorial board of the daily “Klaipėda”, it is obvious that the adult woman did not see a group of children turning and beating a minor.
Even when the educator turned to the children who were abusing the girl, one of them did not stop pulling her.
Finally, the educator approached the girl and began to say something to her.
According to Mantas, who observed the situation, this children’s “game” was repeated at least three times.
The young man was shocked by the image seen, one can only imagine the feelings that would have involved the girl’s parents being pushed and pushed by their companions.
The Klaipėda resident understood that the girl had not been injured, but the treatment of other children with her by a stranger turned out to be unacceptable.
Did the children just play?
Valė Norkuvienė, the deputy head of Klaipėda’s “Saulutė” kindergarten-school for education, who is now deputy director of holidays, promised to find out what happened, he soon commented on the picture captured in the schoolyard-kindergarten of childhood.
Often, from the side, things do not look as they really are.
The educator admitted that the fact recorded on the video looks unpleasant. But such an impression, he says, is created only when viewed from the outside.
V.Norkuvienė assured that he had communicated with the teachers and spoken with the children.
After that, the deputy director’s opinion of the event changed.
“It just came to our knowledge then. The girl and the other children who participated in the situation explain it as a game (called cheating or fighting),” said V.Norkuvienė.
The deputy said that he had talked to the girl, that she had been dragged by the children, and she had said that she was not hurt at all, that the children only shrugged their shoulders. The girl showed where it was obstructed.
When asked how she evaluates the behavior of other children, the girl said that she was not angry with her classmates, that she even liked that game, although the educator did not allow it.
Teaches to ask for help
“We understand that the games are good and bad. It is clear from the record that the educator was not a passive observer. When we returned to the group, there was talk of inappropriate games. Individual conversations with parents are planned ”, assured V.Norkuvienė.
The deputy director of the kindergarten-school explained that the prevention programs “Zipio draugai”, “Second step”, “Apuolio draugai”, “Kimoči” are being implemented in different age groups.
According to the administration of the institution, children are taught to acquire the skills to overcome social and emotional difficulties in order to achieve better emotional well-being.
This is how young students are taught to seek help.
From this explanation, it can be assumed that “Saulutė” students are taught to recognize good behavior from bad behavior and even ask for help when a child feels insecure.
Start bringing up
In a letter to the editorial office of the Klaipėda newspaper, a representative of the kindergarten administration promised to educate a person who recorded events in the kindergarten yard.
“Under data protection law, the question arises as to whether anonymous people had the right to film children and make the recording public by sending it outside the institution. He acted unethically in general. Why didn’t he come himself, call the head of the institution, the working educator, and express his fears? Often, from the side, things do not look as they really are. It would be desirable not only to seek sensations, but also active participants who are really involved in overcoming negative phenomena. The situation is really unpleasant for the whole community and especially for the educator who works. The teachers of our institution and the whole community give all their hearts to our children ”, taught V.Norkuvienė.
Employees of the Klaipėda City Municipality Education Department were in a similar mood. According to them, the man had to go to kindergarten, talk to the leaders.
However, in the full assessment of the situation, it should be borne in mind that we currently live in quarantine conditions and strangers cannot be admitted to school-kindergarten.
It is also worth remembering that the young man filmed the events in the kindergarten playground not to publicize the images of children on the Internet, but to help prevent inappropriate behavior and bring it to the attention of the educator.
In the recording, not only the children’s faces are seen, but also the face of the educator, only moving figures are seen, specific people are not recognized. The Klaipeda resident did not distribute the video on YouTube or Facebook, this was necessary to substantiate his testimony.
Promote citizenship
Greta Bliutaitė, chief specialist of the Public Relations and Communications Division of the State Service for the Protection and Adoption of Children’s Rights for Klaipėda and Tauragė counties, said that every year more and more reports of violations of children’s rights are received. little boy.
There are more and more cases in which the speakers are strangers to the abused child: neighbors, acquaintances, or even casual passersby.
Any report of this type, even if it is sent by an unassigned person, is investigated, an attempt is made to explain with the child’s parents, to investigate the minor’s own condition.
Videos are also received often, but are not considered a violation of children’s rights.
“We are glad that people are indifferent to the fate of children. Those who request and report violations of children’s rights are civic, “said the representative of the service.
Often times, reports or records reach the police first and only then do officials refer them to child rights defenders.
G.Bliutaitė assured: it does not matter in which way the news about the abused child reaches the service.
Vida Bubliauskienė, advisor to the Klaipėda Municipality Department of Education, said that the children’s parents complain more frequently and that the complaints concern what they believe is inappropriate behavior by teachers.
It is true that these complaints are decreasing every year. Generally, the staff of the Department of Education has to assume the role of mediator between dissatisfied parents and the staff of the training institution.
