The duel of equal rivals was the Euroleague match between the USEL in Vilerban and the ALBA teams in Berlin.
It was hard-won by the ALBA team – 95:89 (23:30, 20:22, 27:21, 25:16).
The ASVEL team tried to break up in the second half (48:38), but quickly lost none of the double-digit lead and it all ended with a tense interpretation of the team’s relationship after the big break.
At the beginning of the last quarter, ASVEL had the advantage (75:70), but Ben Lammers, Simone Fontecchio and Marcus Eriksson quickly tied the result – 77:77. Soon the advantage was already on the side of ALBA (79:77), but on the other side of the field Matthew Strazel made his contribution and again compared the result – 83:83.
With the passage of time, the situation did not turn in favor of either team. Lammers’ 2-minute pitch increased Berlin’s lead to 4 (89:85), but was answered by Norris Cole, who scored two points in a row – 89:89. With just 75 seconds to go, S. Fontecchio fired from a distance, then scored a penalty of two, bringing the guests closer to victory.
ASVEL kept the free kick, and Marcus Eriksson seized the opportunity, and his finals finally confirmed the victory, as there were only 16 seconds left, 95:89. After a minute of rest, Vilerban’s team did not perform a miracle.
