Following a warning of a possible Chinese invasion, the American warship crossed the Taiwan Strait.

The move came a day after a high-ranking US military warned that China could send its forces to Taiwan for the next six years.

According to the US Navy’s Seventh Fleet, the USS John Finn, a missile-armed and guided-missile-armed squadron bomber, conducted a normal waterway between mainland China and Taiwan on Wednesday.

The report said that the third such trip since Joe Biden’s inception as president of the United States “demonstrates the commitment of the United States to a free and open region of India and the Pacific.”

US warships regularly conduct navigation training through the straits, but such actions always elicit an angry reaction from Beijing. The Chinese government regards Taiwan and the surrounding waters as its territory.

The United States and many other countries maintain the Taiwan Strait as international waters open to all.

The last crossing of the strait took place on the same day that Beijing accused US Admiral Philip Davidson, a senior US military official in the Asia-Pacific region, of trying to “inflate” the threat of the Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

Davidson told the US Senate committee on Tuesday that the United States was losing its military advantage over China in the Pacific region and made a threatening prediction about Beijing’s chances of invading Taiwan.

“It just came to our attention then [Kinija] “It accelerates our ambition to overthrow the United States by 2050 and reduce our leadership in a rules-based international order,” Davidson said.

“It is clear that Taiwan is one of their ambitions, [kurias būtų siekiama įgyvendinti] earlier. And I think this threat will occur in this decade, in fact, in the next six years, “he added.

Democratic and independent Taiwan is constantly threatened by an authoritarian invasion by Chinese forces. Beijing’s leaders see the island as part of Chinese territory and promise to win it back one day.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is considered the most militant leader in the country after Mao Zedong. He described the occupation of Taiwan as “inevitable”.

Beijing has stepped up military, diplomatic and economic pressure on Taiwan since Tsai Ing-wen became president in 2016. It considers the island “already independent” and not part of “one China.”

Last year, Chinese military aircraft stormed Taiwan’s defense zone 380 times, a record number. Some analysts have warned that tensions on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are currently at their highest since the mid-1990s.
