The president of the Seimas, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, promises that the rulers will soon submit the relaxation of the alcohol bans to the Seimas for its consideration.
“An informal working group has been created in the coalition, which is reviewing the current rules and submitting complex proposals,” the president of Seimas told reporters on Wednesday.
“There are a few things to consider in my head. In the first place, the liberalization of advertising bans, because they have an imitation effect and do not have a real positive effect, “he said.
According to V. Čmilytė-Nielsen, the age limit from which alcohol can be consumed is likely to change, as well as the timing of the trade in spirits.
V. Čmilytė-Nielsen stressed that the previously established prohibitions were not useful in all cases.
“Alcohol consumption did not decrease in the youngest age group,” said the president of Seimas.
