According to the court, all the above circumstances allow the court to conclude that the defendant, while at liberty and in order to avoid criminal liability, can flee (hide) from the court, therefore, the written commitment not to leave, decided to change it to a more severe measure of detention: arrest.
By court order, the defendant was arrested in the courtroom for 2 months. This arrest warrant has not entered into force and can be appealed to the Lithuanian Court of Appeal.
According to the data of the case, from September 2018 to November of the same year, D.Daktaras, acting together with his mother, cultivated a large quantity of cannabis, more than 80 units, in a specially equipped room in the attic of the house belonging to the latter in Šiauliai.
These cannabis were then cut and dried in the same attic. The man is also accused of illegally connecting to the AB Lietuvos Energija Tiekimas power grid and using electricity while working with his mother in this attic. The pre-trial investigation concluded that the company had suffered damages of almost 7,000 euros.
