Last Friday the municipalities were invited to join the safe return model to contact education.
“To date, we have received responses that 25 municipalities and 59 schools would like to join the safe return model to contact education,” the ministry said Tuesday.
According to the decision of the Government and the Municipality of Vilnius, the contact education of primary school children in Vilnius Duke Gediminas Progymnasium was resumed more than two weeks ago, after checking the families of students and teachers using the investigative method pilot.
For this method, a maximum of 5 human samples are collected in a single group, usually a test tube. The samples in this case are not taken from the nasopharynx but from the nasal mucosa, so the test is painless, less unpleasant than the normal PRG test.
If the group response is positive, the individuals whose samples were in the group are contacted and retested by the PRG test.
In the first phase of the study, before the children returned to school, the families of the students and teachers were surveyed at the moving point using the cumulative method. In the second stage, already a week later, all the students and educators surveyed the school using the same cumulative method. No cases of Covid-19 have been reported.
