“Communication in the public sphere, at least at the national level, is practically non-existent by the government. (…) The understanding that there must be visual communication, that there must be constant verbal and explanatory communication, I really don’t see that, and it’s really very unfortunate, because it also reflects the vaccination process itself, which is quite chaotic. ” , – on LRT television said the president.
According to D. Grybauskaitė, too much responsibility has been given to regional self-government and family doctors.
“We can see that everything has been transferred to the shoulders of family doctors, to other medical institutions belonging to regional municipalities, and the rate of vaccination has begun to vary. In some (municipalities – ELTA) people are already 65 years old, in others, 70 years old, and in others the 80-year vaccination has not yet been completed. In fact, if we leave this responsibility (responsibility – ELTA) only to family doctors, we can see that the vaccination process depends a lot on the administrative capacity of each individual institution and the municipality, ”he said.
D. Grybauskaitė also criticized the authorities for manually compiling the vaccination list.
“If this is the case when mass vaccination starts, I think we will have a lot of problems. Because even now the lists are created manually. (…) There should have been no manual lists. We had to prepare an online program for everything to come out quickly and objectively, ”he said.
“How long can we wait and not organize, and how many random numbers can we expect to be okay?” Asked the president.
According to D. Grybauskaitė, the vaccination process is uncontrollable.
“We can see now that there is a big difference between the amount of vaccines received and used, because the (vaccination – ELTA) process is running out of control.” … As the number of vaccines increases, the gap will still be greater and, therefore, there can be no excuses, “he emphasized.
