“When you see the number of cases in individual municipalities, you can see that certain clusters have formed. In general, geographic regions of individual municipalities have emerged, with a very similar disease situation, either conglomerates with a very good situation or with a not very good situation, that is, the municipalities marked in black.
As the government has approved a quarantine release plan, there are clear scenarios, certain release options, both in terms of the number of cases and positive tests, ”said the Minister.
Still no clear blueprint for easing movement restrictions?
According to her, the purpose of the meeting with the heads of municipalities was to discuss how the Government’s quarantine mitigation plan could be applied to individual Lithuanian municipalities or individual groupings. In municipalities where quarantine could be relaxed, priority will be given to the education sector.
“It was also considered how the movement itself could be, because we really see certain risks that the movement of those blackened municipalities or municipalities where there is no situation will not be active and the situation will not get worse in other places,” reported A. Bilotaitė.
The minister noted that there is still no specific model to revoke the movement, but after March 15, restrictions on the movement, for example, could remain only in those municipalities where epidemiological indicators are the worst.
“At the moment, we do not have any clear model, because these issues will take other formats, first of all the meeting of the Government Emergency Commission, and there we will look for ways to achieve the best results and not have the situation that in the municipalities would begin to deteriorate significantly ”, explained A.Bilotaitė.
According to her, much attention was paid to discussions about the need to significantly increase the scope of testing in municipalities. It is true that so far no decisions have been made on this issue, the recommendations are still being negotiated.
“Analysts are very clear that it is necessary to double that volume so that we can see the real picture. After increasing the scope of the tests in some municipalities, those municipalities that do not look so good, maybe they look much better, or maybe the situation worsens ”, considered A. Bilotaitė.
Where is the worst situation and where is the best?
