He also pointed out that Martyn S. could have been fined more, but pleaded guilty, said he regretted the crime, that the criminal case against him had been processed through an expedited procedure and that the fine of 1,200 euros had been canceled reduced by a third.

The judge warned the convict: if he does not pay the fine within half a year, this sentence can be replaced by another: restriction of freedom.

According to the data in the case, it was established that Martynas S. was included in the list of recruits from the Panevėžys region last year and was obliged to attend the Military Recruitment and Conscription Service, but did not do so. He was fined 15 euros for not fulfilling his duties as a recruit.

Her recruit did not pay and did not attend the service, for which she was processed again, she was fined 45 euros. But he also did not pay these fines, for which he was again fined 60 euros. But even this young man, who is officially nowhere to work, did not pay this fine.

“I will not pay and I will not serve,” explained the Kupiškis resident, who avoided compulsory military service.

During questioning with the police, he admitted that he knew he had been called up for military service.

“I suspected that I might be called up for conscription, so I checked publicly available lists while surfing the Internet by phone,” he said. “And I found my data, but I knew it wasn’t going to work, so I didn’t do anything.”

Martynas S. assured that “he has been working informally in the forests for a long time,” so he decided not to perform military service and not present any documents.

“I know that a postman came to my house and gave me a registered letter about military service, where they told me that I had to go to the administrative misconduct case against me for breach of military service, but I ignored him. Call” said the man.

Martynas S. stated that he was aware of the fines imposed but did not pay them.

“I no longer checked online to see if I was still on the guest list, I did not react at all to the messages I received, because I had decided not to do military service and not pay fines,” he said.

The man, who avoided military service, said that he was not officially working, but that as soon as the weather improved, he would continue working in the forest, which was better here than in the army. Why, he did not explain, but to mitigate his responsibility, he said that he sincerely regrets such irresponsible actions.

Officers who conducted the pre-trial investigation also questioned Martin S.’s mother, who repeatedly received certified letters from the Military Service and the Manning Service.

“I passed all the letters to the son, but he ignored him, because, as they said, he was not interested, the son is an adult and has to be responsible for his own actions,” said the mother. .
