February 26 1:28 pm Telšiai County Highway Police Department officers on patrol in Maudžiorai village, without identification with a police car, were lured by apparently drunk people who were sitting in a Ford Mondeo car. When he started driving, the officers came over, turned on the lights, and wanted to stop this car on the other side of the road for inspection.

However, the driver of the car saw that it was the officers and the confrontations with them who decided to dodge, they did not stop, increased speed and went ahead. Officers quickly turned around, turned on special light and sound signals, and immediately chased the car.

While driving behind the loudspeaker, officials clearly asked to stop on the right side of the road, but the driver did not listen to him, did not comply with legal requirements and ignored them.

The aforementioned car driver left the town of Gaaudėnai in the Telšiai district to the town of Maudžiorai in the Kelm Kel district. Then he turned onto the road to that town and headed toward the house, in whose yard he stopped.

Still, the hunt lasted a few minutes. A man born in 1993 ignored a request from the police to stop the vehicle.

When asked why he did not confront the police officers, he replied that he was scared and thought he could avoid imminent responsibility.

It later emerged that he not only ignored the requirement to stop, but had not acquired the right to drive and was intoxicated. He was found to have an average drunkenness of 1.59 per thousand.

Due to the fact that he did not have the right to drive a car and did not comply with the requirement to stop the vehicle, administrative infringement protocols were drawn up for the driver in accordance with LR ANK 426 st. 5 d. and according to LR ANK 424 art. 2d. And for driving while moderately intoxicated, a pre-trial investigation was launched in accordance with Article 281-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. 1 d.

By the way, he was driving a vehicle that officially belongs to someone else.

And while the officers were writing the minutes, an apparently drunk passenger suddenly got out of the car trying to escape. As he approached the official car, he kept closing the vehicle door, preventing the police officers from doing their job.

Officials warned him of such behavior, but the man ignored the comments. He was also found to have an average intoxication of 2.15 per thousand. The man was arrested and detained.

Road police officers urge road users to be honest and not drive under the influence of alcohol or not. The greatest value is safety, so let’s protect ourselves and others, comply with the requirements of the Traffic Regulations and act responsibly and prudently.
