Before the Lithuanian-Polish relations, an information attack was carried out on Friday, placing a false message on one of the Polish portals, reported the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry (MFA).

According to the Foreign Ministry, the target of a false report, which had appeared briefly on one of the Polish portals, was the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, the Polish political leadership and the American soldiers.

In response to this disinformation attack, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry reports that it is cooperating with its Polish counterparts.

The Foreign Ministry also draws attention to the recent escalation of information and cyber-information attacks, which “are aimed at damaging the friendly relations between Lithuania and Poland and blackmailing the Lithuanian and Polish peoples.”

The Seimas Chancellery reported late Friday that false information had been distributed using the name of Aušrinė Noreikienė, Member of Parliament, Lithuanian Peasants and Greens Union, and that his mailbox or computer had not been hacked.

“The Seimas Chancellery reports that the mailbox or computer of the Seimas member has not been hacked. The organizers of the informative attack used the name of the Seimas member, illegally indicating her email address as the sender of these letters,” they say the communication representatives of the Seimas Chancellery.
