A widespread police flight, culminating in the stalking of a street pillar and the escape of a sprawling BMW, cost the road eagle driving it an eleventh sentence.
The hunt didn’t last long
The Kaunas Chamber of the Kaunas District Court deprived this repeat offender of the right to drive any vehicle for five years and placed him in preventive detention for 90 days. He also confiscated 600 euros from this eagle, who paid his cousin for an irreparably broken BMW. Not only did he not re-register this in his own name, but he had no right to drive, having been deprived of that right to drive while intoxicated last summer.
The portal kauno.diena.lt wrote that this horrible traffic accident occurred during Christmas last year, on the night of December 26, at approximately 1.45 in Vilijampolė. Around this time, near the Kaunas border, in Raudondvario pl. Police officers with a mobile post in 172 houses noticed a suspiciously maneuvering car arriving from Raudondvaris. It didn’t stop when it stopped. On the contrary, he increased his speed towards the Old City.
The fugitive was chased by another police team, who followed him and witnessed this spectacle. However, the driver of the hunted BMW not only ignored the car’s audio and visual cues from pursuing officers, but also increasingly from a distance. Finally, he was found by hitting a metal sidewalk pillar in Raudondvario pl. 141.
He regained consciousness in the hospital.
The stain on his forehead looked grim: BMW was wrecked and its driver, who was probably not wearing a seat belt, was unconsciously thrown from the car onto the pavement.
Suspecting that this knee eagle may have suffered a serious head injury, he was taken directly from the scene to the Resuscitation Clinic. However, later it became clear that the devil had once again changed the pillow because of drunkenness; After finding much milder fractures, 36-year-old Ernest K. was soon transferred to another apartment, where he also did not stay long. During that time, the police received a response from toxicologists regarding the possible concentration of alcohol in this driver’s blood.
Preliminary information that the fugitive was intoxicated because officers could smell him of alcohol was confirmed by the pile. Toxicologists found that Ernest K. had at least 2.41 prom in his blood at the time of the incident. alcohol, which amounts to an almost severe degree of intoxication.
When questioned by the law enforcement officers who initiated the pre-trial investigation, he admitted to drinking on 25 December in Raudondvaris, where he visited acquaintances. Although he planned to return to Kaunas that day, Ernest K. had already said that he did not remember how he had implemented this plan. He regained consciousness already in the hospital. And what happened happened to the doctor, who wondered how he survived.

The truth was revealed by the cousin
Ernest K. assured him that he had learned more about the end of his trip from a television report. And unable to say anything more, but deeply regrets what happened.
His cousin, under whose name BMW was registered, also said he learned about the incident on television. He told officials who had carried out the pretrial investigation that he had been using the car for about a month and a half. And two weeks before the event he sold it to his cousin Ernest K., with whom he interacted only through social media.
Ernesto K.’s cousin said that he had not been removed from Regitra’s database as a BMW owner for two reasons: he did not have time at the time and the new owner of the car asked not to because he was dealing with sheriffs. and he didn’t want to take chances.
Ernest K. does not appear to have lied, having been convicted ten times over the past sixteen years for various crimes: robbery, most notably illegal crossing of the state border and possession of a forged document, causing physical pain, resisting officials and being robbed by a group of accomplices. And these sentences were transmitted to him by seven courts in the country: Kelmė, Šilalė, Raseiniai, Lazdijai, Kaunas, Trakai and Jurbarkas. He was eventually sent behind bars for more than seven years. After serving his sentence, he was released in late 2017.
Imposed a solid fine
In addition to the aforementioned criminal case for driving more than 1.5 avg, Ernest K. was also indicted for four traffic offenses (KET) committed that night. A protocol was drawn up for him to drive without such right, disobedience to the demand of the uniformed men to stop, to drive in December with summer tires and without technical inspection documents.

The prosecutor in charge of the pre-trial investigation had instructed the police to verify that he had not violated the then prohibition of movement between municipalities. Simply because Ernestas K.’s official place of residence is his native Šiauliai.
However, the police did not see the violation.
Ernestas K.’s case in the Kaunas Palace of the Kaunas District Court has already been examined. Judge Sigita Kazlauskienė imposed a fine of 1,300 euros on Ernest K., who did not work anywhere and was not registered with the Employment Service, for the four mentioned administrative offenses, that is, the maximum penalty for disobedience to the stoppage requirement half. He was also deprived of the right to drive for four years and confiscated what was left of BMW.
The judges’ opinions differed
S. Kazlauskienė’s colleague, Vaiva Nevardauskienė, who decided how to punish Ernest K. for driving more than 1.5 prom., Previously stated that it is inappropriate to confiscate the pile of rubble left over from BMW. And he confiscated from Ernest K. the monetary value of that car, as stated in his cousin’s contract of sale, namely 600 euros.
However, V. Nevardauskienė reduced the maximum possible term of this type of punishment for this type of crime imposed on Ernest K. by 90% – up to 60 days in detention – because he admitted his guilt and stated that he was sorry. However, he was deprived of the right to drive from this evil road eagle for a maximum period of five years.
This criminal order has already entered into force because the convicted person did not appeal it. The deadline for appealing against S. Kazlauskienė’s decision on the punishment imposed on Ernest K. for the administrative offenses committed has not yet expired.
