The focus was on the impressive church towers – they were already heavily influenced by time, with the red brick walls crumbling. The damage caused over time was easy to assess with the naked eye. And a closer look revealed that the wooden roof structures were also affected by rot, and other damage became apparent.
A short list of necessary management works (restoration, repair) was formed. The most notable arranged towers are: restored red ceramic brick masonry, tower crosses and pediment forged in renovated metal; The roof of the towers, the main pediment and the part between the towers were changed, a new sheet of zinc was covered.
A considerable part of the work remained hidden from prying eyes. For example, restoration of wooden roof structures (beams) of towers by changing or prosthetic areas damaged by rot; replacing rot-damaged tower beam floors with new ones; the production and replacement of wooden panels, ventilation louvers (louvers) and wooden windows covering the arched openings of the tower in accordance with the analogues; such works appear to be invisible from the side, but they are necessary for the building to retain its original appearance for as long as possible. And the fact that the updated details are no different from the old ones only shows the professionalism of the restorers.
By the way, the church is now protected not only from the weather, unfavorable weather conditions, but also from lightning: the building’s lightning protection has been repaired, new lightning rods and a grounding circuit have been installed.
The price of maintenance work performed – 198.6 thousand. euros.
