February 22 during the police measure in Salcininkai district, Jaglimainiai village, Salcininkai district. Police stopped an Audi A3 car for inspection – officers found about 120 liters of domestic vodka in a cache in the car’s cabin. Officials discovered that a Vilnius resident was transporting the house from Vilnius to illegal trade “points” operating in the Šalčininkai district.

That same night, police officers visited the home of the suspect (born 1970) in Vilnius, Rubiškių tako str. During the search of the housing and utility premises, the agents did not notice anything suspicious, but their attention was caught by a hot pipe in the garage in the wall. After a thorough inspection of the garage, officers noticed a door masked under the finish in the wall that led to a homemade vodka “factory” deep within the garage.

Officials were surprised to see a huge vodka machine installed here and running at full capacity, using 1,600 liters of broga in one production run. Next to him were more than 140 liters of fresh cabins poured into various containers.

The vodka machine was connected to a domestic heating system, thus reducing the cost of making vodka. The device was of such size that it was impossible to remove it from the basement, so police officers traditionally used their colleagues from the Fire and Rescue Service, who soon came to the rescue.

During the police action, during one night, the agents found about 1,600 liters of domestic vodka broga, about 260 liters of domestic vodka and a device for making domestic vodka.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched in accordance with article 201 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. 2, the suspect was arrested and detained.
