Readers of the kaunodiena.lt portal recorded a disaster in the amphitheater on Sunday afternoon.
Kaunas firefighters received a notification about the disaster on the Vytautas el Grande Bridge (Aleksotas), near T. Daugirdo Street 2, at 3:53 p.m.
“A woman skidded on a snowboard and fell, and her leg got stuck in a bench and her wife cannot get it out,” said Džiuginta Vaitkevičienė, a senior specialist with the State Fire Supervision Division of the Fire Department and Kaunas rescue.
Firefighters later clarified the initial information. “Firefighters found a woman whose leg was stuck in a broken bench up to the knee. The stairs were icy so he walked between the benches and broke into the bench seat. The affected woman is in her 70s. There was a lack of communication with disaster reporters about the snowboard, “said a firefighter.
The frightened woman was referred to a doctor.
