The Babaryka court is the most important of the entire Belarusian “court transporter”, Francis Viacorka, international affairs adviser to opposition leader Sviatlan Cichanouskaya, told The Insider.
According to him, the court’s verdict and the government’s behavior will show whether it is ready for negotiations and concessions.
However, the academic director of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, Piotr Rudkouski, predicts V. Babaryka for many years in prison.
“The whole process, from the beginning to the present, is first and foremost a testament to how important Babaryka is and how Lukashenko fears her appearance in politics. This process also shows how far the regime is determined to go in repression to silence potential opponents. ” 15 minutes said the analyst.

Pavel Usov, an analyst at the Center for Policy Analysis and Forecasting, has no doubt that Babaryka will be sentenced to 15 years in prison and property confiscation.
“Serious convictions await other participants in the revolution. It is a demonstration execution, a ruthless showdown with the sole aim of destroying the resistance. Expecting mercy from murderers and tyrants is relentlessly naive,” he writes on Facebook.
Why is Lukashenko afraid of Babaryka?
According to P. Rudkouskis, first of all, A. Lukashenko’s regime fears V. Babaryka’s involvement in politics because he is an experienced manager and has accumulated knowledge in the field of economics.
