On February 18, the Peterborough Crowns convicted Audri Verkauskas (40) and Aurimas Bekeris (37), who were found guilty of serious bodily injury.
Both have been sentenced to 1 year and 4 months in prison and 5 years of access to their unpublished victim.

On the morning of December 19 (Saturday) last year, around 9 o’clock on Gladstone Street, friends met a man who had previously been friends with Audrius Verkauskas’ partner. He started blaming the accomplice for this, hitting him several times, and soon Aurimas Becker also put his fists to work.
The attackers behaved extremely brutally in a public place: when the man they hit was lying on the ground without resistance, jumping on his head, leaving him by the will of fate, he returned several times and kicked him in the back and the head again. When the victim finally stood up, the nearby criminals returned again and beat him again with blows.
The victim was helped by passersby, he was taken to Peterborough Hospital, where he was treated for a broken nose, tissue rupture and other injuries.
The suspects were arrested the same day at their homes.
“It was a savage and prolonged attack, characterized by cruelty, everything could have ended much worse.
That should not be the case on our streets, “said local police Jenny Blunt after the sentence was passed.
