RRT has determined the maximum additional charges for roaming services that Lithuanian operators may apply to their service users traveling in other EU and EEA countries from June 15 to June 14, 2021.
“With Lithuanian operators applying fewer and fewer surcharges to users of traveling services, and as other operators’ surcharges continue to fall, Lithuanian consumers will use data transmission services across the EU even cheaper,” said RRT it’s a statement.
Bitė Lietuva and Teledema can only apply roaming charges in the amount necessary to compensate them for the losses incurred in order to guarantee that the prices of local services do not increase. The maximum additional data charges established for Bite decrease from 1.03 to 0.82 euros per gigabyte (GB), for Teledema, from 1.95 to 1.64 euros.
According to RRT, it will be up to the operators to decide whether to apply additional charges and to what extent, but they cannot exceed the established limit.
Tele2 and Telia Lietuva did not apply to RRT for additional charges, therefore the same service fees as in Lithuania will apply to users of the services of these operators traveling in the EU and EEA countries.
