Confusion in the Khimki and the Euroleague: an investigation started, the club cannot register new players

For three months in the Euroleague, the current unfortunate league record with a still-running series of 15 consecutive losses has failed to register new players.

The Euroleague reports that the case of an absolute stranger to the tournament has been referred by the Control Commission to the Finance Department, which, following a complaint from the Euroleague Players Association (EFTA), has opened an investigation into the alleged delays in payments.

The case is expected to be heard within 30 days.

Chimki has been banned from registering new players and coaches while the investigation is ongoing.

We remind you that recently the Russian newspaper Ria Novosti announced that the basketball players of that club have not received any earnings for the last two months.

A month ago, Chimki said goodbye to Lithuania’s chief strategist Rimas Kurtinaitis, but this did not solve the problems.

This Thursday, Khimkis will host Vitorija “Baskonis” (11/13) with two Lithuanians, Rokas Giedraitis and Tadas Sedekerskis. The Basques are one of the potential competitors of Kaunas Žalgiris (13/10) for the TOP-8 position.
