“As for the Government, the period is really difficult, I think that those 100 days have the right to work without criticism, we try to adhere to that position,” S. Skvernelis told LRT radio.

However, the former prime minister stresses that as the end of the 100-day period approaches, it can already be said that so far the government headed by Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė is fine.

“It just came to our attention then. I also see a lot of effort on the part of the Prime Minister, I really understand in what position, in what chair she sat, I myself am trying to remember my beginning four years ago.” Certainly not an issue simple, both in terms of the formation of the Government and the beginning of the Government’s work, “he said.

Skvernel says the government should focus on managing the pandemic, but says the fight against COVID-19 cannot overshadow the daily needs of the state.

“Today, we sometimes see a very chaotic handling of the pandemic, illogical and unjustified solutions. (…) Until March 10. The original plan of the Government program must also be published with concrete measures, because now there are many statements, many uncertainties. Then it will be possible to take an already constructive approach to the government’s activities, “said the politician.

The outgoing prime minister believes that the ministers of the new government have different potentials.

“The ministers are very different and in principle they have a very different approach to their staff before appointing them for less and they have shown who has the potential and who is having a pretty tough time,” he said.
