According to Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė, VEKS approved and will submit a proposal to the Government to accept the release of the movement between the municipalities of Alytus, Šiauliai and Panevėžys and their district municipalities.

According to A. Bilotaitė, it was decided to release the movement restrictions in stages.
“First, starting with these smaller cities and ring municipalities, and then, evaluating the situation, the total number of diseases, the scope of the tests and their increase, it will be possible to consider other remaining municipalities,” said A. Bilotaitė .
The minister recalled that beauty services and some stores have opened their doors since Monday, so the government wants to analyze the broader exemptions in a responsible way.
“This version as well as all the others must be made with the increased test volumes in mind,” said A. Bilotaitė.
As he pointed out, movement restrictions were one of those effective tools to help manage a pandemic situation. In his opinion, the liberalization of the movement between the municipalities of the ring is not a late decision.
“We observe the situation in a responsible and consistent way, step by step. We also understand people’s desire to live a normal life, to return to a normal reality, but we need to understand that not everything is so simple. <...> We try to get out of these limitations gradually, understanding and seeing the situation, the pandemic itself, its management.
We will start with these specific ring towns and cities, and then it will be possible to consider releases elsewhere. Yes, step by step, I hope that soon we will return to normal life ”, said A. Bilotaitė.
