The goal is to open as many hotels as possible.
Mehmet Ersoy, head of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is convinced that the normalization of the tourism sector will not take long, however it would be irrational to expect the 2020 season to be the same as last year.
The main objective of this year, according to the Minister, is “to restore the activity of the sector and open the maximum number of hotels. The objective will not be to obtain the greatest possible benefit this year. The focus will be on the normalization of work and preparations for the 2021 season. “
No one will need a COVID-19 certificate, but they will measure the temperature.
The Minister also agreed to comment on the conditions imposed on foreigners arriving in Turkey due to COVID-19. There are no plans to test, require certificates or other documents confirming that a person does not have COVID-19 in Turkey. However, there is no intention to relinquish control of the incoming countries.
In particular, tourists will be measured by temperature (non-contact method). It should be noted that the maximum temperature limit in Turkey is higher than in some other countries. PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests will only be performed on individuals with temperatures above 38 degrees. The medical points for the procedures will be located right next to the border control points. Coronavirus tests would take up to an hour to complete.

According to Mr. Ersoy, Turkey is not preparing to refuse treatment to those who become infected with COVID-19 or any other infectious disease during the holidays allowed here.
“If a person becomes ill while visiting our country, they will be provided with the necessary medical assistance. There is no reason to worry about that,” said the minister.
Admittedly, he did not specify whether treatment in public hospitals would have to be paid for or whether the services would be provided free of charge.
