Previously, the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service announced that today a lively but highly contrasting atmospheric front would traverse Lithuania in the coming days. It will distinguish between the normal mid-latitude air mass that currently occupies all of Western Europe and the tropical air mass that flows to our region from the Balkans and the Black Sea.

On the eastern side of the country, weather forecasters said, thunderstorms will thunder loudly in places. Some areas in this part were also projected to be visited by hail.

The service also reported that the wind will prevail in the northern directions, moderate force, during thunderstorms in the eastern areas in some places will rise to 15-20 m / s. Today, the highest temperatures will reach 21-26 degrees Celsius, and the western edge of the country will be around 18-20 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, short rains are expected again in many places, during the day heavy rains in some places. At night in some places, during the day there will be many thunderstorms, in some places there will be a splash. Northeast wind, 5–10 m / s, during thunderstorms we will have dangerous gusts. The temperature will be around 12-17 degrees at night and the air will warm to 23-28 degrees during the day.

The weather will be heavily loaded on Thursday with lots of rain and thunderstorms. The heat will flow even more: at night it will be as high as 14-19 degrees, during the day the temperature will rise to 25-29, only in the western areas will it be cooler somewhere.

On social media, people share what hail glaciers fell in Pavilnis and Naujoji Vilnia.

The service reported on its Facebook account that car owners in Vilnius also suffered losses due to the hail. Hail cuts damaged their machines.

The municipality of Jurbarkas district also reported on the damage suffered by residents due to the large hail glaciers and asked people affected by this disaster to record (photograph) the actual situation and contact their elders without delay. The municipal administration will look for ways to at least partially compensate residents for the losses suffered.

“On June 8 a large hail hit the surroundings of the Veliuona and Seredžius elders. The inhabitants of these elders suffered significant losses: pieces of ice broke the roofs of houses, windows and damaged buildings,” wrote the municipality.
