The Klaipėda Šilutė County Fire and Rescue Board has been dispatched to the scene, reports BPC. Information on the event was released to the Klaipeda ambulance station.
As reported by the Fire and Rescue Department, 12 p.m. 28 min. the body of a man was found in the house.
It turned out that the fire was accidentally seen by passing children. His attention was drawn to the rising smoke. As they got closer, the children heard someone inside asking for help. The children ran to a nearby store and emotionally told them what they had seen and heard. The seller soon dialed the emergency number 112.
Upon entering the home, rescuers found the 49-year-old man without any sign of life.
According to preliminary data, he found himself in an uninhabited and unfurnished room on the second floor. According to firefighters, the man was hit by a fire in the room from which he was trying to escape, go or crawl to another room, towards the window. However, the concentration of heat and toxic fumes was already too high.
When the resident was finally able to be taken outside, he was resurrected, but doctors were soon allowed to declare his death.
The burning 2-story house was extinguished by firefighters with 3 tanker trucks, and there are car ladders at the scene.
